Synopsis
DJ Haram (Hyperdub) live in the auditorium of Passos Manuel!
DJ Haram is an electronic music producer, multi-disciplinary
propagandist, and self-described anti-format DJ from New Jersey, now
based in Brooklyn. Known for eclectic production and djing —
experimental bass and club music, analogue synths and percussion,
abrasive noise-adjacent rap collaborations, and Middle Eastern
instrumentation — she also makes up half of 700 Bliss with Moor Mother,
whose Nothing to Declare (2022) earned critical acclaim. She runs the
monthly “Monday Night Raw” at the Lot Radio and previously held a
five-year Rinse FM London residency with “Rage Radio,” alongside
collaborations and remixes with Billy Woods, Armand Hammer ft. Pink
Siifu, Ghias Guevara, Debby Friday, and Fever Ray.
Her EP Handplay finds her in new intimate form after first using her
voice on Nothing to Declare, ahead of her forthcoming Hyperdub album
Beside Myself (July 2025), centering her voice and collaborations
exploring “survival of the spirit.” She has played major stages
including Dekmantel, Unsound, Roskilde, Le Guess Who, Pitchfork
Festival, Tashweesh, and Bonnaroo, touring from Tokyo to Istanbul. Her
solo EPs include Grace (Hyperdub, 2019), Mixed Berries (2019), and Era
(2021).
