Uma equipa de investigadores decide investigar uma série de acontecimentos estranhos relacionados com uma casa numa região rural de Kinki, no Japão. À medida que recolhem testemunhos, documentos, gravações e imagens aparentemente desconexas, começam a perceber que há algo profundamente errado naquele lugar e que diferentes relatos parecem apontar para a mesma presença. A investigação transforma-se progressivamente numa teia de histórias impossíveis, onde já não é claro o que é factos e encenação. Realizado por Koji Shiraishi ( “Noroi: The Curse”, “House of Sayuri”) e inspirado no livro “About a Place in the Kinki Region” que contém uma compilação de histórias da região, “Kinki” recupera o found footage e o falso documentário para construir um misterioso J-horror que nos mantém nervosos até ao fim.
A team of investigators sets out to look into a series of strange events connected to a house in a rural region of Kinki, Japan. As they collect testimonies, documents, recordings and seemingly unrelated footage, they begin to realise that something is deeply wrong with the place and that different accounts appear to point towards the same presence. The investigation gradually turns into a web of impossible stories, where it is no longer clear what is documentation, staged material or reality. Directed by Koji Shiraishi (“Noroi: The Curse”, “House of Sayuri”) and inspired by the book “About a Place in the Kinki Region”, which contains a compilation of stories of the region, “Kinki” turns to found footage and fake documentary conventions to build a horror mystery that keeps us on the edge of our seat until the very end.
