Havar, um rapaz curdo sem-abrigo e sem documentos, atravessa clandestinamente a fronteira entre o Iraque e o Irão em busca de trabalho, acabando empregado numa remota exploração avícola nos arredores de Teerão. Quando o único trabalhador com quem estabelece uma amizade desaparece sem deixar rasto, Havar inicia uma investigação que o conduz a uma realidade marcada pela exploração, pelo medo e pela violência. Combinando o thriller de mistério com o drama social, “Poultry Farm” utiliza um espaço isolado e opressivo para retratar a vulnerabilidade dos migrantes invisíveis e a brutalidade das estruturas de poder. Um filme tenso e humanista, onde o terror reside na crueldade do mundo real.
Havar, a homeless, undocumented Kurdish young boy, crosses the border between Iraq and Iran illegally in search of work, eventually finding employment at a remote poultry farm on the outskirts of Tehran. When the only worker with whom he befriends disappears without a trace, Havar begins an investigation that leads him into a world marked by exploitation, fear and violence. Combining the mystery thriller with social drama, “Poultry Farm” uses an isolated and oppressive setting to portray the vulnerability of invisible migrants and the brutality of power structures. A tense and humanist film, where the terror lies in the cruelty of the real world.
