Walker é um artista com dificuldades financeiras que aceita um trabalho invulgarmente bem pago: tomar conta de Doug, um homem que vive como se fosse um cão. O que começa como uma simples fonte de rendimento leva-o até uma subcultura secreta onde pessoas se comportam como animais e milionários assumem o papel de donos, ficando lentamente cativo de uma lógica de submissão, controlo e desumanização. Quanto mais tempo Walker se passeia por este mundo, mais a experiência começa a afectar a sua relação com Kylie e a própria percepção de quem é. Realizado por Jay Burleson, “Kenneled” é um thriller psicológico perverso sobre poder, manipulação e fetichismo, que transforma a estranheza em desconforto genuíno. Entre o absurdo e o perturbador, é um primo degenerado de “Good Boy” (2022), que nos recorda que o dinheiro não é tudo… e às vezes é melhor não aceitar aquele trabalho que parece demasiado bom para ser verdade.
Walker is a financially struggling artist who accepts an unusually well-paid job: looking after Doug, a man who lives as though he were a dog. What begins as a simple source of income leads him into a secret subculture where people behave like animals and millionaires take on the role of owners, slowly trapping him in a logic of submission, control and dehumanization. The longer Walker spends in this world, the more the experience begins to affect his relationship with Kylie and his own perception of who he is. Directed by Jay Burleson, “Kenneled” is a twisted psychological thriller about power, manipulation and fetishism that turns strangeness into genuine discomfort. Somewhere between the absurd and the disturbing, it is a degenerate cousin of “Good Boy” (2022), reminding us that money isn’t everything… and that sometimes it’s better to turn down a job that seems too good to be true.
